Ott Introduces XLink 2000, a Secure, Scalable Datalogger for Modern Monitoring Networks

Ott today introduced the XLink 2000, a next-generation datalogger designed to help organizations build secure, scalable, and resilient monitoring networks. Developed for hydrology, urban infrastructure, and environmental applications, the XLink 2000 combines encrypted communication, modular hardware, and a sensor-agnostic architecture to support reliable data collection in demanding field environments.

As monitoring requirements continue to evolve, organizations need systems that do more than collect accurate data. They need platforms that are secure, flexible, and ready to adapt to changing communication standards, sensor technologies, and operational demands.

XLink 2000 addresses these needs with secure communication, user authentication, and regular firmware updates that help keep security mechanisms current. Its modular hardware architecture supports long-term compatibility with evolving communication standards and sensor technologies, helping users protect existing infrastructure investments and reduce the need for costly system replacements.

"The XLink 2000 represents our first significant product launch since coming together as Ott. In many ways, it embodies what the new Ott means to our customers and the markets we serve. The XLink 2000 provides a secure, future-ready platform that helps organizations confidently manage evolving monitoring requirements. This is exactly the sort of customer focused innovation that our end users will continue to see from us." explains Curt Worlund, President, Ott.

Designed for ease of deployment and efficient network management, XLink 2000 works with LinkComm software to support intuitive setup, remote access, and regular updates. The platform integrates digital and analog sensors, third-party equipment, and a wide range of application requirements, giving users the flexibility to expand or adapt monitoring networks without replacing existing infrastructure.

“XLink 2000 not only collects data, but it also ensures that data is available, secure, and ready to use,” said Peter Schaeffeler, Product Manager, Ott.

With onboard storage options and compatibility with external storage devices, the XLink 2000 supports reliable data logging even in remote locations. Compatibility with IP cameras and REST-API integration also enables advanced monitoring setups that combine quantitative data with visual context.

The XLink 2000 is backed by the Ott service team, with available extended warranty coverage of up to five years, protection against events such as lightning, surges, and accidental damage, and expert technical support. Together, the platform and support offering provide a reliable foundation for smarter, more resilient monitoring networks.
