Barracuda meets Schropp Tuning: Ford Fiesta ST on Summa Wheels
For decades, the Ford Fiesta was the first car of their own for generations of new drivers. Not only for that reason, the Cologne-built model counted among Germany’s most successful small cars. But the 2023 model year brought a hard cut. At its beginning, Ford discontinued the three-door version, and by its end in summer 2023, the five-door version was phased out as well. This naturally also meant the end of the top model, the Fiesta ST. The “Last Edition” example of the popular pocket rocket presented here, equipped with the upscale X trim line, is even more distinctive and sporty thanks to Schropp Tuning – not least due to its trendy Barracuda Racing Wheels.
The team from Mössingen, best known primarily as Mustang specialists, fitted the ST with Summa wheels from Barracuda’s Ultralight Series. Thanks to the flow-forming process, the wheels, finished in bronze in this case, are exceptionally lightweight. In the chosen size of 7.5×18 inches, each wheel tips the scales at only about 8.4 kilograms. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires measure 205/40ZR18.
By the way: for those seeking an even lighter setup, the Summa is also available in a 7.5×17-inch version, which weighs just around 7.2 kilograms.
An absolute must – both for the visual appeal and the driving dynamics of the upgraded Ford – was lowering the ride height. Schropp achieved this using lowering springs from Eibach.
Last but not least, the Fiesta received a performance boost through ECU tuning. This allows the 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo engine to propel the ST even more powerfully and confidently, now producing 230 hp / 370 Nm instead of the standard 200 hp / 320 Nm.
