Chinchillas make prospectors sweat

Those responsible at the South African gold giant Gold Fields must have rubbed their eyes in amazement. There are actually chinchillas running across their mine site. The only problem is that chinchillas are on the IUCN Red List of endangered animals. This put an end to the expansion of the Salares Norte gold mine in Chile. But Gold Fields has already found a solution. No, they won’t end up in the cooking pot. That could have happened to them in Argentina, where they are considered a delicacy, according to analysts at the investment firm SP Angel. The protected rodents, after all an extended family of about 20 members, will be relocated to a less dangerous area. At least that is the proposal and plan of Gold Fields. Thus, the work at Salares Norte can continue and the production in the new part will probably start in 2023.

When selecting their investments in the mining sector, investors should therefore always look carefully. Nor should they allow themselves to be deterred by all the risks. Because the risk-reward ratio is often very good, especially with emerging companies. Investors who rely on good management in companies with promising projects, split their investment somewhat in order to spread the individual risks, and also adopt mental stop prices for hedging purposes, could be among the winners in the long term. Examples of good mining companies are Revival Gold and Tarachi Gold.

Revival Goldhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynrooOq5PMU – is working on the Beartrack-Arnett gold project in Idaho. This property was once the largest producing gold mine in Idaho. Several drill intercepts yielded around ten grams of gold per ton of rock, and there have also been 71 grams of gold.

Tarachi Goldhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxxRw5hFkrw – is focused on projects in Mexico, such as the Tarachi project in the Sierra Madre gold belt. This year, the company added the Magistral projects in Durango, with initial gold production expected next year.
