A comprehensive fulfillment analysis therefore connects internal warehouse and shipping processes with downstream parcel and carrier data. This creates a continuous timeline from the first pick to successful delivery to the customer.
Connect timestamps across the fulfillment process
With COSYS Warehouse Management Software, operational processes such as picking, stock movements and shipping preparation are documented digitally. Employees process orders using smartphones or mobile data capture devices and confirm items and storage locations by scanning barcodes.
For mobile data capture, companies can use devices such as the Zebra TC201. The full-touch mobile computer is suitable for mobile workflows from picking and packing through to goods issue.
This generates valuable process data for subsequent analysis: When did picking begin? When was the order completely picked? When was the parcel created? And when was it ready for dispatch?
By adding data from parcel carriers, the timeline can then be extended beyond the warehouse all the way to final delivery.
From goods issue to the parcel carrier
COSYS can also digitally support the transition between internal logistics and external parcel shipping. For shipments handled by DHL, COSYS provides an interface that can be used to register shipments for the parcel transport process.
This means shipping does not have to be analysed separately from the preceding fulfillment workflow. Warehouse, parcel and shipping information can instead be connected along the same process chain.
Carrier data can add timestamps such as parcel creation, collection by the carrier and final delivery. This becomes particularly valuable for Polish fulfillment operations handling large order volumes or serving customers across different markets. It answers a crucial question: How much time does a shipment spend within your own operation, and how much time passes after handover to the carrier?
Process Mining reveals what actually happens
Average processing times can hide the fact that only certain orders, workflows or periods regularly cause problems. This is where Process Mining becomes particularly useful.
Instead of looking only at individual KPIs, Process Mining reconstructs the actual process paths based on recorded event data. Different process variants, additional loops and unusually long transition times become visible.
For example, picking may take only 25 minutes, but another four hours pass before the parcel is created. Other orders may be packed immediately but then remain in the shipping area for a long time before carrier handover. Both orders have a long overall throughput time, but the underlying causes are completely different.
Identifying these differences is essential for targeted fulfillment optimisation.
Analyse seasonal peaks separately
This level of transparency becomes especially important when shipment volumes fluctuate significantly. Processes that work efficiently during normal operations can become bottlenecks during seasonal peaks.
With COSYS Business Intelligence and process data analysis, order throughput times, shipment volumes, overdue orders and other fulfillment KPIs can be compared across different periods. Fulfillment managers can determine whether increasing parcel volumes lead to longer picking times, whether completed parcels spend more time waiting for dispatch, or whether specific handovers become bottlenecks.
This is particularly relevant for fulfillment centres and e-commerce logistics operations in Poland that need to manage rapidly changing order volumes while maintaining reliable delivery performance.
COSYS AI functions complement these analyses by helping to identify anomalies and correlations within large volumes of process data more quickly.
From individual parcels to fulfillment performance
The real value does not come from creating another shipping report. It comes from connecting the data.
COSYS combines warehouse management software, in-house logistics, mobile data capture and interfaces with Business Intelligence, Process Mining and AI. This allows the entire fulfillment process to be analysed using data – from picking and parcel creation to carrier handover and final delivery.
For fulfillment managers, this provides a clearer picture of where orders are actually losing time and which part of the process needs to be optimised.
