NIMMSTA Expands Its Process Solution with Motion Trigger and Motion Loop

NIMMSTA, the Munich-based provider of intralogistics process solutions, is expanding its NIMMSTA Process Solution with an update to its proprietary Smart Watch. With the new Motion Trigger and Motion Loop, NIMMSTA replaces the previous Trigger Pad with mechanical activation as well as the previous Sleeve with a motion-based scan trigger and a new ergonomic wearing concept.

The result is more intuitive, reliable, and comfortable operation in Picking, Sorting, and other intralogistics processes. With this update, NIMMSTA not only improves ergonomics and ease of use, but also reduces wear, service effort, and the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of the overall solution by eliminating mechanical components.

Both solutions are available immediately. Existing customers can switch to the new system free of charge after consulting with their NIMMSTA Sales contact.

The best trigger is the one you no longer need

Mechanical buttons introduce contact points, wear, and recurring service effort. That’s why NIMMSTA rethought scan activation consistently from a process perspective, rather than simply optimizing yet another hardware component.

With the new Motion Trigger, the scan is triggered by the employee’s natural movement. A mechanical button is no longer required.

This eliminates an additional contact point and a potential source of wear. It simplifies the overall system, reduces service effort, and increases the long-term availability of the solution. At the same time, customers benefit from lower operating costs across the entire lifecycle.

“The best trigger is the one you no longer need. We didn’t want to simply develop another button. Our goal was to make the entire process more intuitive and reliable. The Motion Trigger is a prime example of how our proprietary hardware enables tangible process improvements.”
— Andreas Funkenhauser, CEO and Co-Founder of NIMMSTA

Scan activation tailored to the process

The Motion Trigger can be adapted to the requirements of each individual process.

In Picking processes involving a lot of movement, the scan can be triggered deliberately and in a controlled manner. At fixed Sorting workstations, activation can be configured for fast, repeated scanning.

As part of its Service, NIMMSTA supports customers with the necessary adjustments. As a result, scan activation is not based on a rigid operating mode, but is optimally adapted to the actual requirements of each process.

Motion Loop: secure, ergonomic, and durable

The new Motion Loop replaces the previous NIMMSTA Sleeve. The black, ergonomic band features a thumb opening that securely positions the Smart Watch on the hand.

The Motion Loop can be adjusted to different hand sizes and stays firmly in place even during movement-intensive tasks. Its snug fit prevents slipping and allows for comfortable use of the Smart Watch throughout the entire shift.

Compared to the previous Sleeve, the Motion Loop uses less material, fits the hand more closely, and is designed for significantly higher wearing comfort as well as a considerably longer service life. This longer lifespan reduces the need for replacement and helps to sustainably lower operating costs.

The Motion Loop is used together with the Motion Trigger and is suitable for all processes supported by the NIMMSTA Intralogistics Process Solution.

Designed for continuous operation

Every setup consisting of a Smart Watch and Motion Trigger includes several Motion Loops. This supports regular use and replacement in daily operations and contributes to consistently high availability.

This offers an additional advantage, particularly in intralogistics, where staff turnover is frequent and temporary workers are regularly deployed: new employees can start with a fresh Motion Loop and don’t need to take over a loop already worn by someone else. This supports hygiene, wearing comfort, and acceptance from the very first day on the job.

In addition, NIMMSTA Service supports customers throughout the entire use of the solution. Should a Motion Loop fail during the contract term, it will be replaced as part of the NIMMSTA Process Solution. This eliminates the need for customers to handle their own procurement and coordination efforts, as well as unplanned replacement costs. This reduces administrative effort and ensures predictable operating costs.

More than a hardware update

Motion Trigger and Motion Loop are not isolated product updates. They demonstrate how NIMMSTA continuously advances its proprietary hardware as an integral part of the holistic Process Solution.

The benefits at a glance:

  • Intuitive scan activation through natural movement
  • Fewer mechanical components and potential sources of error
  • Lower maintenance and service effort
  • Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
  • Process-specific configuration for Picking and Sorting
  • Secure and ergonomic positioning of the Smart Watch
  • Adjustable to different hand sizes
  • Greater wearing comfort in daily use
  • Service and support throughout the entire lifecycle of the solution

The technology follows the same core principle as the NIMMSTA Intralogistics Process Solution: employees should not have to adapt to the technology – the technology adapts to the employee and the respective process.

Available now

Motion Trigger and Motion Loop are available immediately. Existing NIMMSTA customers can arrange the switch to the new system directly with their Sales contact.

Companies who want to experience the new scan activation for themselves can contact the NIMMSTA Sales team and request a demo.
