The merger of LANCOM Systems and Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity is part of a resolute growth strategy: Both companies are joining forces to provide customers and partners an even more comprehensive and integrated range of sovereign networking and cybersecurity solutions “engineered in Germany”.
The current LANCOM Managing Directors, Constantin von Reden and Robert Mallinson, will continue their work as Managing Directors of Rohde & Schwarz Networks and Cybersecurity from July 1, 2026. Ralf Koenzen, LANCOM founder and current managing director of Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity, will support the company in an advisory capacity.
Constantin von Reden, future CEO of Rohde & Schwarz Networks and Cybersecurity, is convinced: "Networks and cybersecurity are inextricably linked. The merger sustainably strengthens our market presence and reiterates the importance of networks and cybersecurity within the Rohde & Schwarz Group. This fusion builds on our strengths and strategically leverages the synergies to continue offering our customers and partners the secure and high-performing solutions they have come to expect from us.”
Ralf Koenzen, founder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board at LANCOM Systems: “The strength and trust in the Rohde & Schwarz brand will give Rohde & Schwarz Networks and Cybersecurity a powerful boost, especially across international markets. The established LANCOM brand remains a part of the existing product portfolio.”
The company will have around 500 employees at its six German locations in Würselen, Hamburg, Karlsruhe, Cologne, Berlin and Munich. The headquarters of Rohde & Schwarz Networks and Cybersecurity GmbH is in Würselen, Germany. All existing company locations will be retained. New resources are currently in development specifically to implement the growth strategy.
Market orientation, differentiation and internationalization
A key element of the growth strategy is an even stronger customer focus, coupled with further differentiation of the joint value proposition. The focus will be on the traditional networking business for corporate customers (Corporate Network Solutions), solutions specifically for the public sector, critical infrastructures (CIP), and also the security and defense sectors. Rohde & Schwarz Networks and Cybersecurity is set to continue its growth, particularly across the European market, supported by an expanded yet sharply focused portfolio of solutions. The company is leveraging the respective strengths of its former sister companies and systematically bringing them together: The joint portfolio of solutions uniquely addresses customers’ needs for integrated, sovereign networking and security solutions.
Rohde & Schwarz Networks and Cybersecurity GmbH will continue with its channel distribution model. Robert Mallinson, who as Co-Managing Director successfully led sales activities at LANCOM Systems to date and will continue in this position, emphasizes: "The channel will remain our primary sales avenue. In line with market positioning, we will be expanding our sales ecosystem with some new, specialized partners. Particularly in the business‑segments corporate, public and critical infrastructures, we will intensify our collaboration with international integrators in order to generate new growth.”
