Hall 5 / Booth C21
This year at TGW Logistics‘ trade fair booth in Hall 5 (C21), the spotlight is on stationary and mobile automation. Alongside the AI-based picking robot RovoFlex, the Stingray shuttle in its latest stage of evolution and the LivePick order fulfillment system, the SmartPocket pocket sorter is taking center stage. The design relies on autonomous mobile robots instead of a drag chain. With this innovation, TGW Logistics is systematically rethinking the whole pocket sorter concept: SmartPocket is a game changer with the potential to bring lasting change to intralogistics.
Many industries currently find themselves facing high volatility and rapid change. This development makes planning increasingly difficult for companies. Long-term success – particularly in intralogistics – depends heavily on solutions that not only provide optimal performance from day one, but also and above all adapt flexibly to changing requirements. The supply chain, until now often considered a mere expense factor, has developed more and more into a strategic asset, becoming an indispensable prerequisite for the reliable and efficient fulfillment of customer requirements.
Partners on an automation journey
With over 50 years of experience in developing, realizing and maintaining storage systems, the intralogistics specialist combines intelligent mechatronics, advanced robotics and top-notch software to produce reliable, flexible and future-proof solutions.
"TGW Logistics sees itself as a long-term partner with a deep understanding of the challenges facing its customers and their industries, and is eager to accompany them on their automation journey: from planning and consulting to realization to providing support during live operation within the scope of Lifetime Services," affirms Martin Price, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing at TGW Logistics.
Stationary and mobile robotics
Alongside the AI-based picking robot RovoFlex, the LivePick order fulfillment system and the latest stage of evolution of the Stingray shuttle, the pocket sorter SmartPocket is getting particular attention. Instead of a chain, it employs autonomous mobile robots that travel independently along a system of intersecting rails to reach their destinations. The sensor-driven carriers independently determine the optimal route to avoid traffic jams and idle times.
Unlike conventional pocket sorters, the SmartPocket is not geared solely toward handling peak loads, but rather exhibits high flexibility and a compelling ability to evolve alongside the user’s business developments. It is designed to be scalable in small increments and thus can be tailored to the actual requirements – generating significant cost advantages in terms of both the initial investment and live operation.
TGW Logistics is one of the leading international suppliers of material handling solutions. For over 50 years, the Austrian specialist has implemented highly automated systems for customers, including brands from A as in Adidas to Z as in Zalando.
