Copper for a new, more sustainable world

The future belongs to electrification, electromobility and renewable energies.

Electrical systems almost always contain copper wires and cables. Power grids, solar systems and wind turbines contain the reddish metal, just as it is widely used in electric vehicles. In fast and ultra-charging stations, copper ensures efficient and safe power transmission. Even new technologies often cannot do without the metal. In Berlin, for example, there are hundreds of streetlamps (called "Heinz") that can be used to charge electric cars. This example shows how installation costs can be reduced and space saved. This means that drivers who do not have a photovoltaic system or wallbox at home can also supply their environmentally friendly car with electricity. Copper is also used to integrate charging stations into kerbs. Practicality was tested for a year in Cologne. And the result was positive. The four charging kerbs were used for more than 2,800 charging processes and withstood all weathers. The test has now been turned into regular operation.

The advantage is that the charging station is integrated into the kerb, charging is possible directly at the edge of the road and the sidewalk is not affected. This makes it easier to charge an electric car. Large stores and shopping centers are also increasingly offering charging facilities. Travel is also becoming less CO2-intensive. Electric buses have been on the road for years and now a major European manufacturer is sending out a fully electric coach. It has a range of 650 kilometers. Copper is always involved in all these developments. And with the increasing use of copper, this should also have an impact on the price of the metal. The same applies to mining companies that have copper in their projects.

This includes Arizona Sonoran Copperhttps://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/arizona-sonoran-copper-company-inc/ -. The company is developing the Cactus and Parks/Salyer projects in Arizona. There will be an updated mineral resource estimate in the second half of 2025

Mogotes Metalshttps://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/mogotes-metals-inc/ – has projects in Chile and Argentina. The flagship project is the Filo Sur copper project (Argentina).
