A Driver of Innovation in Functional Glass

Since 1978, HAVERKAMP has been developing products in the fields of film technology, sun protection, and safety systems. Using its own machinery and in-house production facilities in Münster, the company specifically optimizes glass: functional films can be integrated into the manufacturing process of laminated glass or applied to existing glass surfaces at a later stage.

The films enhance glass surfaces with numerous properties, thereby opening up new application possibilities. The product portfolio includes, among other things, safety films, sun protection solutions, smart glass technologies, and specialized interlayer films for the glass industry.

The product portfolio includes high-performance solar control films that reduce energy consumption and significantly improve indoor climate. It is complemented by switchable PDLC films, which enable variable transparency and thus open up modern design possibilities in office buildings, medical facilities, or high-end interiors. In addition, with its certified PROFILON^® safety films, HAVERKAMP offers one of the most effective solutions for burglary resistance, shatter protection, explosion pressure reduction, and sound insulation. These films are used worldwide in security-sensitive projects.

A particularly striking example of this is the government district in Oslo. There, PROFILON^® safety films were installed as a central component of the security concept and played a key role in protecting people from serious injury during the attack in 2011. This international reference impressively demonstrates the central role that functional safety solutions play in modern buildings, while also underscoring the performance capabilities of HAVERKAMP technologies.

By simply retrofitting existing glass surfaces, functional benefits can be achieved without the need for major structural measures or renovations—a significant advantage for architecture, renovation projects, and existing buildings.

HAVERKAMP’s ongoing research and development leads to solutions that expand the functional use of glass in buildings, vehicles, and technical applications. Modern coating and lamination processes, along with rigorous quality controls, ensure products with high technical performance and durability.
