The Opel Combo is a real all-rounder among compact commercial vehicles – and is now becoming even more attractive. The new Opel Combo Tech special series offers all tradespeople driving comfort at passenger car level. Numerous technologies and features contribute to this, from glare-free Intelli-Lux Matrix headlights to the infotainment system with integrated navigation and the multi-adjustable comfort driver’s seat, which Opel has combined to create an attractive package. In addition, the Combo Tech also comes with design highlights such as the car-style bumpers and the body decals in tech design as standard. The new Opel Combo Tech is available from €26,600 (RRP excl. VAT in Germany). Compared to a model equipped with individual options, this results in savings of around €1,000. On the drive side, customers can choose between battery-electric Combo Electric or two efficient diesel alternatives.
"Customers who want to drive a compact commercial vehicle that is flexible and equipped at passenger car level ill find the ideal mobile companion in the new Combo Tech. It not only offers an exceptionally high level of comfort for its class, it also looks particularly representative thanks to its design features and thus becomes the figurehead of any company. And with all this, customers can still save a lot compared to an identically equipped model," said, Patrick Dinger, Head of Opel Germany.
Flexible, practical, with top features: The Combo Tech sets standards
Each variant of the Combo Tech is a 4.40-metre-long panel van that offers up to 3.8 cubic metres of load volume and a load compartment length of up to 3.09 metres. Depending on the engine, it can accommodate work equipment weighing up to almost 650 kilogrammes. In the all-electric version, the payload even increases to up to 780 kilogrammes. This means that the special series offers the same practical van qualities as any other Combo panel van.
The big difference between the Combo Tech and its siblings is its car-like appearance and the particularly extensive equipment at a special price. The body decals of the compact van, which is offered in Kaolin White as standard – the metallic paint finishes Kontrast Grey and Libeccio Blue are also available as an option – give the vehicle an independent and high-quality look. The bumpers in passenger car design have integrated underride protection. In addition, black exterior door handles, mirror caps and side protection strips as well as bumpers and sliding door rail in the body colour. The 16-inch alloys are also eye-catching.
The representative exterior impression continues in the interior. Drivers take a seat on the six-way adjustable comfort seat with lumbar support. The armrest makes the ride even more relaxed; the storage compartment under the seat can also accommodate everyday items. The standard two-zone automatic climate control system ensures pleasant temperatures in summer. In the colder months, the heated steering wheel in a high-quality leather look increases the driver’s comfort.
Safety is enhanced by other advanced technologies such as the glare-free Intelli-Lux Matrix light, which is also standard on the Combo Tech, the fog lights and the Dynamic Surround View system. This digital interior rear-view mirror shows either the normally blind spot on the passenger side or – when reverse gear is engaged – the non-visible area behind the rear. The Visiopark 180° system is a parking aid with a dynamic reversing camera that makes manoeuvring in the city or on company premises even easier.
For the best entertainment and connectivity, the Combo Tech comes with the "IVI HIGH" infotainment system. The 10-inch instrument cluster with colour display and the equally large HD screen in the centre console provide all the important information for the driver. The system also features natural speech recognition and integrated navigation from TomTom, so that the precise journey to the destination can be planned economically without detours or loss of time. Compatible smartphones, which can be mirrored in the infotainment system, can also be recharged while driving via the inductive charging station. And the Combo Tech also offers the "Keyless Entry&Go" system as standard.
Additional storage compartments distributed throughout the vehicle as well as rubber coverings that protect against annoying scratches and prevent the load from slipping further facilitate loading and unloading of the van. The particularly extensively equipped Combo Electric can be ordered either as a 100 kW (136 hp) battery-electric variant with a locally emissions-free range of up to 354 kilometres (WLTP1) or as an efficient diesel with 75 kW (102 hp) and six-speed manual transmission or 100 kW (136 hp) and eight-speed automatic.
