The government is providing 14.2 billion pounds, or around 16.8 billion euros, to build the Sizewell C nuclear power plant in Suffolk. It should be completed in nine to twelve years. The motto is to move away from fossil fuels. The British are also investing around three billion euros in so-called Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). SMRs are to be connected to the grid as early as the mid-2030s. In January 2025, the UK announced a billion-euro deal with Rolls-Royce. This involves nuclear reactors for the nuclear submarine fleet. This deal is worth around 10.7 billion euros. The aim is therefore not only clean, reliable energy, but also to promote national security. Nuclear deterrence potential is therefore in demand. The UK has four submarines equipped with nuclear propulsion and nuclear weapons. New attack submarines are already planned, as is the construction of new munitions factories.
Many other countries are also investing heavily in nuclear power, such as China, which is playing a leading role in the construction of new nuclear power plants. Russia and India are also massively expanding their nuclear infrastructure, as is the USA. In total, around 40 countries are striving for more nuclear power. According to studies by the International Energy Agency, interest in nuclear power and the expansion of nuclear power is higher than it has been since the oil crisis. This is because global demand for electricity is growing rapidly. The renaissance of nuclear energy is naturally leading to an increasing demand for uranium, which is good news for uranium companies such as IsoEnergy – https://www.commodity-tv.com/play/isoenergy-new-drill-targets-at-hurricane-and-further-preparation-for-restart-of-tony-m/ -. The company owns high-grade uranium deposits in Saskatchewan, Australia, Argentina and the USA, as well as a portfolio of licensed uranium and vanadium mines in Utah.
Uranium Royalty – https://www.rohstoff-tv.com/mediathek/unternehmen/profile/uranium-royalty-corp/ – is the only listed company worldwide in the uranium sector. The division includes royalties, streams, shares in uranium companies and physical uranium transactions.
