From Rally to Road

  • Everyday rally feeling: Customers can look forward to the Mokka as a powerful GSE
  • Pure power: Mokka GSE Rally is the inspiration for the extraordinary series electric car
  • Still camouflaged: New Mokka GSE currently in final rounds of development

A few weeks ago, the Opel Mokka GSE Rally celebrated its sensational premiere at the ELE Rally in the Netherlands. There, the prototype announced itself in front of everyone as a new star in electric rallying. Now Opel has confirmed that the Opel Mokka GSE is coming as a production vehicle – OMG! GSE moments included. In the future, customers will also be able to drive the successful compact Opel SUV as a fully electric high-performance GSE version, making everyday life on the move extraordinary! Just like the Mokka GSE Rally, the Opel Mokka GSE benefits from the company’s pioneering achievements and experience in electric rallying. How the newcomer awakens the desire for more is also shown in the electrifying video.

“During the development of the Opel Mokka GSE Rally, it quickly became clear to us that we did not want to reserve this incredible feeling only for motorsport professionals. Opel customers should also be able to enjoy this particularly powerful, direct and uncompromising driving experience. That is why we are putting the Mokka GSE into series production," said Opel Vice President Current Product Marc Fetzer.

OMG! GSE feeling for the road: Mokka GSE as a series version of the rally prototype

The Mokka GSE Rally, which recently entered the big stage at the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup ‘powered by GSE’, stands for excitement: From the outside, it shines with motorsport foiling including OMG! GSE lettering, black bonnet, yellow brake calipers and many other rally accents. Even more impressive are the key technical data: 207 kW (280 hp) of peak power, 345 Newton metres of torque and sophisticated motorsport technology make the Mokka GSE Rally a unique all-electric rally car. "The Mokka GSE Rally marks an incredible leap in electric rallying. The power and the precise handling are brilliant – it’s great fun from the very first second," said Calle Carlberg. The champion of the 2023 ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup should know, after all, he has already put the Mokka GSE Rally to the test. “I think it’s fantastic that Opel is now translating the prototype into series production as the Mokka GSE and making this driving experience possible for all Opel customers.”

The Mokka GSE will also share many components and traits with the Mokka GSE Rally. This includes the strong performance as well as the direct feedback from the vehicle and the feeling that the Mokka GSE ‘sticks to the road’. Rally-inspired highlights will underline the uncompromising appearance. It will, however, still take a little time before the particularly sporty electric car will be available. Currently, the Mokka GSE is camouflaged and is undergoing final tests, so that customers will receive a perfectly tuned production vehicle and benefit from the experience gained in motorsport. The Opel Motorsport team has already collected valuable data with the Mokka GSE Rally at its rally premiere in Eindhoven and at the demanding stages of Rallye Vosges Grand-Est in France. These experiences will be incorporated into the series version of the Mokka GSE.

Opel will continue the OMG! GSE story soon by announcing further news and releasing first official pictures of the Mokka GSE.
