Innovative light-curing adhesives for medical devices – presented by Dymax at COMPAMED 2023

Dymax, one of the leading manufacturers of light-curing materials and devices, showcases its latest innovations at COMPAMED in Düsseldorf this year. From November 13th to 16th, visitors can get comprehensive information about the latest developments in the field of light-curing materials for medical technology in Hall 8B at Booth L01.

This year’s focus is on Dymax’s patent-pending Hybrid Light-Curable Technology. The HLC adhesives are the evolved generation of existing UVCAs and combine the exceptional physical performance characteristics of Dymax’s light-curing crosslinked acrylate urethane adhesives with the moisture/contact-curing properties of the extremely fast anionically linear chained Cyanoacrylate (CAs). This ensures not only quick and complete bonding in shadowed areas but also enables their use with opaque or even light-impermeable materials.

At the joint booth with Biesterfeld Special Chemistry from Hamburg, visitors can also learn about the benefits of Dymax’s skin-friendly medical adhesives from the 2000-MW series for medical wearables. These are formulated without the commonly used skin-irritating raw materials, such as IBOA, as well as other materials of concern like TPO, thus meeting the specific requirements for medical wearables. Typical applications also include all medical devices worn close to the skin, such as blood glucose meters, high-volume injectors, patient monitoring devices, and pain management devices.

As part of the portfolio, the newly developed medical adhesive Dymax MD® 1045-M for pre-filled syringes and medical injectors will also be presented at COMPAMED. This adhesive was specifically designed for bonding glass, stainless steel, ABS, and PC substrates frequently used in the assembly of pre-filled syringes, disposable medical devices, and auto, pen, and wearable injectors. Its major advantage lies in its low viscosity of 475mPas. This allows for much faster application, reducing some processing steps that currently take longer than 30 seconds to under 10 seconds.

Manufacturers of medical devices can also learn about the latest UV/broadband and LED curing devices, including the powerful LED light-curing system Dymax BlueWave® QX4 V2.0 and the newly developed high-intensity LED area curing device Dymax BlueWave® FX-1250. Our application engineering experts will be on site to answer questions about light-curing materials and curing systems, discuss applications in detail, and provide demonstrations of our products and technologies.

Send us an email and find out how to get a FREE visitor day ticket or visit the COMPAMED website and learn more about our latest products now.
