Lauterbach Announces Debug and Trace Support for Infineon’s Next-Generation AURIX™ Microcontrollers

Lauterbach’s TRACE32® development tools now also support Infineon’s newest leading-edge AURIX™ microcontrollers including the high-end TC4x series. TRACE32® support includes simultaneous debugging of all TriCore™ CPU cores as well as non-intrusive CPU trace capture.

The AURIX™ TC4x family is the 3rd generation of the Infineon multi-core microcontroller platform for automotive real-time applications in powertrain, chassis applications, safety applications, and advanced driver assistance systems. This next generation of the AURIX™ platform delivers increased compute performance through the TriCore™ 1.8 multi-core architecture and increased clock frequencies up to 500 MHz. It provides fully lock-step operation for ASIL-D safety level as well as CPU virtualization and system virtualization.

Lauterbach’s TRACE32® enables hardware-accelerated debugging and real-time tracing of all the TriCore and other cores like PPU and GTM implemented in AURIX™ TC4x; a unique capability to cover the whole system. TRACE32® tools consist of the universal PowerView debugging and tracing software as well as debug and trace accelerator modules. While Lauterbach’s intelligent PowerDebug modules provide the highest available download speeds and smallest response times for efficient debugging and test automation, PowerTrace real-time trace modules provide full insights of what the CPUs and other cores of an AURIX™ system are doing without impacting its real-time performance in any way. Thanks to Lauterbach’s leading hypervisor and OS awareness technology, even virtualized environments can be examined safely and without restrictions. Trace analysis including code coverage measurements can support in bringing embedded designs to market faster, safer, and more reliably than ever.
“Lauterbach’s market-leading TRACE32® debug and trace tools are the de-facto standard in the automotive industry," explains Thomas Schneid, Senior Director Software-Partner and Ecosystem Management at Infineon. "We are therefore pleased that our customers will be offered support for our latest AURIX generation right from the beginning."

“Generation after generation, Infineon delivers impressive advances in computing performance and feature set in its newest AURIX microcontrollers”, says Norbert Weiss, Managing Director at Lauterbach GmbH. “And generation after generation, full support from our TRACE32® debug and trace tools is available immediately with the new chips".

Lauterbach’s TRACE32® enables developers of high-end devices to evolve applications based on AURIX™ TC4x microcontrollers, even faster and easier.
