EDITION [PEPPER] now also with a star

  • New versions of the successful bestseller
  • Mercedes‐Benz Sprinters deliver premium quality
  • Wider range of base vehicles in the future
  • Configurable and available to order now

EDITION [PEPPER] is the name of the most successful and best‐selling special model series in the industry. It has been the favourite of cost and quality conscious buyers for many years. Reason enough for WEINSBERG to now strategically expand its existing portfolio: Two versions built on Mercedes‐Benz Sprinters have now been added to the most popular models offered by the traditional brand WEINSBERG.

This offers advantages on a number of levels. Firstly, Mercedes‐Benz as the manufacturer of the base vehicles assures WEINSBERG of a high delivery capacity and availability of its chassis, which means the motorhomes can be delivered more quickly. Secondly, the technological sophistication symbolised by Stuttgart’s iconic star elevates the company’s offerings in this class to a new level. With 110 kW (150 hp), even the basic engine gives a superior drive in all situations. WEINSBERG offers these vehicles in versions with 3.5 and 4.2 tonnes of permissible total weight. The vehicles also feature a comprehensive range of driving assistance and safety systems as standard, which can be added to on request. For the launch, WEINSBERG offers two versions built on the new Mercedes‐Benz Sprinter models. Prices start at 72,990 euros. The CaraCompact 640 MEG MB EDITION [PEPPER] is a slim and agile semi‐integrated vehicle with a spacious single‐bed layout for up to three people, and the SUITE also has a lift bed, which means it can sleep up to five people. The seating area has an innovative feature that is both simple and very effective: WEINSBERG has positioned the bench at five degrees off the right angle – which does not sound like very much, but offers surprising benefits. This not only makes sitting down and getting up easier, the resulting visual axes also improve the overall sense of space.

WEINSBERG’s new strategy establishes a long‐term cooperation with Mercedes‐Benz with a variety of further possibilities in the future. What’s more, it builds on an established tradition, because the two brands have collaborated in the past: Knaus Tabbert had already staked out the terrain in the late 1970s with the WEINSBERG ORBIS and WEINSBERG ORBITER models, both of which were based on a Mercedes‐Benz transporter. TABBERT also offered comfortable motorhomes based on Mercedes‐Benz vehicles at that time.

Further highlights of the EDITION [PEPPER] on Mercedes‐Benz SprintersOptions/Packages

Further options are available on request in addition to the extensive [PEPPER] standard features, such as a bicycle rack for up to four bikes, the PREMIUM or EXCLUSIVE door (which come with window and coming‐home feature),  Seitz frame windows, ISOFIX, electric floor heating, the Velocate GPS tracker and a lithium‐ion on‐board battery. The Light & Visibility package with Mercedes LED high‐performance headlights, high‐ beam assistance and rain sensor always ensures good visibility. The WET WIPER SYSTEM sprays the cleaning liquid directly in front of the wiper blades and wipes it off immediately. This not only improves visibility for the driver while wiping, it also uses much less cleaning liquid, which is good for the environment, pedestrians and other road users. The Hot [PEPPER] package includes important Mercedes safety features (electric parking brake, distance assistance, traffic sign assistance) and the MBUX multimedia system, which is redefining standards in the industry in terms of connectivity, infotainment, navigation and communication in the vehicle.

MBUX: Mercedes‐Benz user experience: intelligent multimedia system

The intelligent and user‐friendly MBUX infotainment system connects the vehicle with the digital world, and its innovative connectivity solution makes it one of the best vehicle multimedia systems.

It is operated via a user‐friendly 10.25“ touchscreen or via the multifunction steering wheel. The latter also operates the on‐board computer and vehicle functions using touch control buttons (small touch pads on the steering wheel) and other buttons, which means you never have to take your hands off the steering wheel. The height and angle of the multifunction steering wheel can be adjusted, as can the leather gear shift lever.
The MBUX also comes with a DAB+ radio, fast hard‐disk navigation with high‐quality topographical 3D map display and free map updates for three years, as well as an instrument cluster with 5.5“ colour display including reversing camera. The colour display is located between speedometer and tachometer. Easy‐to‐read displays and intuitive menu navigation are within the driver’s field of vision. Among other things, the display shows a trip calculator with eco consumption data, average fuel consumption, AdBlue fill level and selected vehicle data. You can also access radio, navigation system, media, phone, assistance systems, vehicle settings and service via the menu.

Your smartphone can be integrated into the MBUX system using Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or Mirrorlink. You can also easily access all the main smartphone apps via the screen in the vehicle, including third‐party apps (such as Spotify).

The Bluetooth interface of the MBUX with hands‐free function means you can safely make phone calls while driving without getting distracted.

Other Mercedes highlights in the [PEPPER]

There are four cupholders for drinking bottles and cups in the driver’s cab within easy reach of the driver and front passenger. Two practical storage compartments in the centre of the dashboard are also within easy reach. A wide, open storage compartment with a capacity of approx. 8.5 litres can be found on the passenger side below the dashboard, which can be used to store documents and other personal items. Two additional adjustable air vents in the cab offer extra comfort.

Other Mercedes highlights: Keyless start, electromechanical power steering, crosswind assistance, hill start assistance, eco start/stop function, adaptive electronic stability programme ESP (can support the driver by building up direction‐stabilising braking forces in critical driving situations) and adaptive brake lights (can significantly reduce the reaction time of drivers of vehicles behind you with their eye‐catching flashing and thus prevent rear‐ end collisions).

Successful partnership: KNAUS and MANNew: VAN WAVE 640 MEG VANSATION on MAN TGE

MAN and KNAUS are a strong team – as is shown by the successful VAN TI PLUS and VAN TI 640 MEG VANSATION models. Demand for these vehicles remains high – motorhomes on MAN TGE are dynamic, sporty and fitted with the latest assistance systems. And the many VANSATION features that make the VAN TI a KNAUS bestseller are just as popular. The new VAN WAVE 640 MEG VANSATION on the MAN TGE builds on this success.

The semi‐integrated vehicle with practical lift bed, available from €71,999, features the innovative FoldXPand rear which adds length on the inside while retaining a compact exterior. The positioning of the furniture at an angle and the wave‐shaped roof also make perfect use of the space. In addition, all superstructures are located behind the shaft and therefore do not affect the height of the vehicle. The standard dual‐channel air suspension on the rear axle with compressor means the VAN WAVE offers the best driving comfort and maximum driving safety.
KNAUS created 190 cm of headroom under the lift bed (and 196 cm elsewhere in the living space) in the new VAN WAVE; the vehicle also has the largest VAN seating group, a side seat and comfortable 195 cm and 201 cm single beds, which can be extended to created a sunbathing area. The fittings also include: Cruise control with speed limiter, drowsiness detection, Truma CP‐Plus, BluuWater water filter system, ambient lighting, heated waste water tank insulating hood, multifunction steering wheel, insect screen door, 17“ alloy wheels with original MAN tyres and Campovolo Gray awning and side panels. On request, the vehicle can be ordered with Alde heating.

Other highlights of the VAN WAVE VANSATION on MAN TGEMotorisation

The VAN WAVE 640 MEG VANSATION with front‐wheel drive140 hp and 6‐speed manual transmission can also be ordered with 177 hp and 8‐speed automatic transmission. The low gear ratio of the automatic transmission have a very positive effect on consumption and driving dynamics. The technically permissible total weight of the VANSATION of 3,500 kg can optionally be increased to 3,850 kg or 4,000 kg. Reducing the number of permitted seats in the drive mode from four to three or two increases load capacity or gives more space for equipment.

Options/Packages

The many VANSATION features can be added to on request; options include alarm system, gas sensor, the Velocate GPS tracker, a lithium‐ion battery, a battery master switch that can switch off all of the vehicle’s electrical consumers and thus avoid discharging the vehicle’s battery with standby power consumption, or the TVT body (top value technology),  which makes the vehicle even more durable and rot‐proof thanks to moisture‐resistant polyurethane plastic strips and even better body stability (side wall, roof, rear wall and floor are bonded together) – while maintaining the same weight and insulation properties.
The Winter package equips the VAN WAVE for frosty temperatures with heated windscreen with thermal insulation glazing, heated washer jets in the front, electric floor heating and heated seats for the driver’s cab. Thanks to high‐beam assistance, fog lights incl. turning lights, LED main headlights with LED daytime driving lights and windscreen wiper interval circuit with rain sensor and automatic headlight control (reacts automatically in darkness and rain), the Light & Visibility package always ensures the best visibility even in bad weather.
The Energy Basic package includes a touch control panel with a user‐friendly operating concept of interlinked components, incl. indoor and outdoor temperature sensors (instead of the standard control panel) and an intelligent charger with 25 A charging power. The Energy Plus package also includes an additional on‐board battery and a battery sensor for the body battery.

Other MAN and VANSATION highlights

With the innovative MAN assistance systems you are always on the safe side. The VAN WAVE VANSATION comes fitted as standard with cruise control and speed limiter, hill start assistance, electronic immobiliser, drowsiness detection, ABS, emergency brake assistance, start‐and‐stop system with brake energy regeneration and electromechanical power steering. The electronically controlled ESP driving assistance system helps prevent skidding by selectively braking individual wheels, and the multi‐collision brake automatically applies the vehicle’s emergency brakes if a collision is detected, helping to prevent secondary accidents. Other MAN assistance systems can be ordered on request: adaptive cruise control (ACC) with speed limiter, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition.

The multifunction display Plus with monochrome TFT display clearly shows information such as outside temperature, remaining range, average consumption, assistance systems and vehicle functions. The „MAN Media Van Business Navigation“ is more than just a navigation system: In addition to the navigation function (which comes with a two‐year license) with live traffic and regular MAN map updates, the 8“ TFT colour display with touchscreen and proximity sensor technology has two additional speakers, an AUX‐IN interface, a USB port, Bluetooth connectivity for smartphones, the wireless MAN SmartLink (to connect smartphone to WiFi) and voice control. The original MAN cab seats with high‐ quality fitted seat covers in a KNAUS Wohnwelt design are height‐adjustable and rotatable. Front and side windows can be darkened easily with the EXCLUSIVE cab darkening system. The practical KNAUS ServiceBox provides convenient access to all important elements of the supply technology via a flap in the side wall of the vehicle: Drain taps for fresh and waste water tank, fresh water tank filling opening, water filter system. The gas box is just as accessible via a service door in the side wall. The gas cylinders are arranged longitudinally, which means they can be changed easily and individually.

Other highlights: Rear view camera, KNAUS CATEYE evolution tail light with exclusive night signature and dynamic indicators in LED technology as well as a comfort bathroom with swivelling washbasin wall and a high‐quality bench toilet.

The new KNAUS SPORT

Versatile, unique and a true motorhome classic: The KNAUS SPORT is ideal for holidays on your own or with the whole family. At last year’s Caravan Salon it impressed with its new exterior and interior design: silver‐grey graphics with the KNAUS swing element, FoldXPand rear, smart lightweight construction, modern cubic‐style furniture with cross‐grained wood, light surfaces and fine backlit upholstery applications.

The 650 FDK is a recent addition to the large layout product portfolio – featuring a spacious family layout. It has a French bed positioned lengthwise in the bow with a bathroom next to it – there is a separate sink, which means no waiting around for the bathroom to be free in the mornings. There is plenty of space in the centre of the vehicle for travel provisions in the large 177‐litre fridge, which has a practical double‐door stop. There is also plenty of room for your holiday clothes and other equipment in the many storage compartments and the large wardrobe. There is a large dinette opposite the kitchen. Another seating area and a bunk bed, positioned lengthwise, are located in the rear. This gives children their own area in the vehicle, which can be partitioned off from the front with a textile room divider. Special equipment option: the optional multifunctional 3‐bed‐bunk bed. Using the folding function of the middle bed, the lying space turns into a backrest, creating a small play area. By folding up the lower bed, you can create a large storage area that can be accessed from either the inside or the outside. Furthermore, as an additional option a large garage door is possible so that even bicycles can be transported safely and easily. The 3‐bed bunk bed option also features three side windows.

The new KNAUS SÜDWIND

The iconic ‐SÜDWIND caravan – with the extensively equipped 60 YEARS version being particularly popular – impresses with its new exterior and interior: FoldXPand‐Heck, black and silver‐grey graphics with KNAUS swing element, dark framed side wall windows with SÜDWIND logo, Pro.Tec‐Frame in a new and more eye‐catching design, furniture made of cross‐laminated wood, off‐white wall cabinet fronts with graphic pattern and redesigned entrance furniture with indirect lighting.

With 16 different layouts to choose from, there is something there for every camping fan. The Tandemachser 650 FSK is new and particularly well suited for families, with plenty of space thanks to its well thought‐out floor plan. The parents’ area is in the bow. It features a French bed, positioned lengthwise, and a spacious bathroom with separate sink next to it. The middle of the vehicle has space for all passengers in the large salon seating area. On the opposite side you find the kitchen with a large 177‐litre fridge with a practical double‐door stop. The rear is the „children’s bedroom“, which features a bunk bed, positioned lengthwise, and a separate seating area. A multifunctional triple children’s bed can be ordered instead of the normal bunk bed. It creates a child’s seat and large storage space by folding up the middle and lower beds. Another optional addition is a large garage door with frame window including darkening and insect screen, which allows you to transport larger items such as bicycles. The three‐bunk bed option can come with three side windows. Parents’ and children’s areas can be separated using a textile room divider. There is plenty of room for clothes and other holiday equipment for the whole family in the many storage compartments and the large wardrobe.
