The announcement follows ANVISA’s introduction of specific regulations for food supplements in 2018, when manufacturers were called to prove the efficacy of their products. The Agency is building a positive list of approved ingredients and health claims. Companies have a transition period to adapt existing products, while new products have to be within the scope of the new rules.
